- NOTICE OF CONTRACT ACTION FOR Aerospace Organic Matrix Composite Materials. The objective of this program is to investigate from both an analytical and experimental standpoint the potential of new and/or modifications of existing matrix materials and reinforcement forms, for us in advanced composite materials, including processing/mechanical property relationships. Examples of relationships of interest include processing, thermal, mechanical property evaluation and environmental degradation. An additional objective is to provide a mechanism to provide flexible access to technologies to meet current technical needs and provide a fresh technical outlook, and maintain a state-of-the-art capability for related research. Such materials are subsequent candidates for use in advanced aircraft, missile and space structural applications. The majority of the technical effort is performed on-site at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The anticipated funding for this effort is $20M. The funding profile listed with this anticipated requirement reflect the estimated requirement funding only. This estimate is not a promise for funding. Funding is uncertain and is subject to change. Changes in availability may occur as a result of the exercise of Government discretion. It is anticipated that Call #4 for Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) 04-07-MLK providing more details into this program will be released on or about 15 April 2005 and will be available at www.fedbizopps.gov and at http://www.wrs.afrl.af.mil/contract/.
