- Arcata Associates (Arcata/UNITeS), in support of UNITeS Prime Contract NNM04AA02C at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), intends to negotiate on a sole source emergency basis, only with Sungard Recovery Services, Inc. to extend the current Arcata/Sungard Disaster Recovery Test and Hot Site Services Agreement for a period of ninety (90) days ending 30 June 2005. This 90 day extension shall provide sufficient time to undertake a full and open competitive procurement for disaster recovery services (subscription/hot site) in support of Marshall's NASA Data Center (NDC). Arcata/UNITeS intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 25 March 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by Arcata/UNITeS not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Arcata/UNITeS. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of solicitation amendments (if any) at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=62 as no hard copies will be provided by this office. Responses received without the required information will be considered non-responsive to the synopsis. Oral communications are not accepted in response to this Synopsis.
