Description: The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) seeks to increase level of effort under a current contractor with Bert Smith & Co., Contract No. PBGC01-CT-04-0693. Under this contract, Bert Smith is performing professional accounting support with PBGC's Financial Operations Department (FOD) relating to PBGC's trust operations. An increase of 3,135 hours to the existing performance period and 6,630 hours in the remaining option periods 2 and 3, this is necessary to offset an unforeseen increase in the number of pension plans assumed by the PBGC. In view of this contractor's familiarity with the complexities of PBGC's trust operations, it would not be practicable to obtain this additional support through another contractor. This is not a request for proposal. See Note 22.
