Description
RFP 618-124-05 REPLACE OXYGEN ALARM SYSTEM Issue 3/16/05 open 4/18/05 Z (Construction) The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment to accomplish: Replace medical gas alarm panels with a new retrofit panel utilizing the existing rough in box, wiring and gas inlet/outlet quick connects. Repair walls and finishes to match existing. No modifications of walls and finishes will be accepted without COTR approval. New construction will consist of but not be limited to: removal of old alarm panels and installation of retrofit oxygen, medical air and vacuum alarm panels. Parts from old Ohio panels will be saved and delivered to owner (ATS Shop). Install power and data wiring needed to utilize existing power/data on new alarm panels. Test alarm panels following installation. These tasks shall be accomplished per contract drawings 1099 and specification number 05-120. A total of 34 (plus two additional area panels to be used as spares) medical gas panels are involved in this project. Two of the panels are master alarm panels monitoring various air, gas and vacuum functions, 32 are area alarms. The two additional area (3 function: MedAir, Oxygen, Vacuum) spare panels are not required to be installed, these two panels will be included in the price of the project and delivered to the VA in the factory packaging upon completion of the project. In addition to bidding on the base bid and two add alternates (detailed on page 3 of section 01010), a per panel price is needed for a 3 gas area alarm (MED AIR, OXYGEN, VACUUM). Special Work Hours: This workspace does not stop services. Ten business days before each shutdown of power or fire suppression systems, the Contractor shall notify the VA Project Manager, in writing, of the scheduled shutdown. As required by drawings and specifications at VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN 55417. A site walk for prospective contractors will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. local time; meet in Engineering Service, Basement, Room BR-138. NIACS is 236220 at $28.5 million dollars. The magnitude of the project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Bid documents available on a first-requested basis in writing by U.S. Mail or by Fax to 612-725-2072. Bid specifications and drawings available on or about March 16, 2005. Bids due April 18, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.
