- This is a sources sought synopsis. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to award a contract as a result of this request for information. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to initiate a Foreign Comparative Testing program and invite full and open competition. NUWCDIVNPT seeks the availability of potential sources to provide a transponder range system to support Navy training of Forward Deployed Naval Forces in water depths of 200 to 2500 fathoms. The system shall demonstrate that it can receive MK84 downlink pings and transmit uplink pings that minimally interfere with training vehicle operations. The proposed system shall also provide uplink digital signal processing and vehicle tracking and display. The system shall currently be in production. All interested sources with qualified systems are encouraged to respond to this synopsis to identify their devices, the qualifications and production status no later than 15 April 2005 and should be forwarded to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, point of contact Nancy Howard at her e-mail address. All submitted information should be unclassified. Reference NUWCDIVNPT Control 052957 in any responses forwarded to this office. The Government shall not reimburse the respondent for any costs associated with the information submitted in response to this request.
