Description
The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basis to Genomic Solutions, 4355 Varsity Drive, Suite E, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48108. Genomic Solutions is the sole manufacturer of the GeneMachines HybStation. The capabilities of this instrument are essential to provide the throughput and labor savings we are seeking, as well, as to have the efficient, high-quality results for our hybridizations that we need and expert in our laboratory. The HybStation has a unique set of features that is highly important for our research: Slide capacity is 12 slides (6 chambers; 2 slides per chamber) with the ability to control chambers independently. Translucent slide covers that allow user to see hybridization surface, while preventing photobleaching of fluorescent dyes. Probe/target injection using standard laboratory pipette and disposable tips to prevent contamination between slides 6 independently controlled peltier modules with a temperature range from 4?C to 99?C will provide us with maximal flexibility in the design and execution of our protocols. Ability to program and run protocols independently, one for each chamber, allows different experiments to be run simultaneously, allowing us to maximize the utility of the machine. Each chamber can even be started at different time points. No need to load both sides of a module prior to a run, can use as few as I slide and 1 blank or up to 12 slides. 2 programmable waste bottle to allow the user to segregate solutions as necessary 100?l hybridization volume with no dead volume to minimize probe dilution and solution usage to reduce the overall costs of ownership For high throughput applications, up to 8 HybStations can be controlled by connecting to a PC, allowing coordinated hybridization of up to 96 slides for maximal large ?batch hybridization reproductibility. The HybStation is a widely used automated hybridization station in other research institute. Hybstation includes free software upgrades while we are under a service contract with the manufacturer. An award will be made in (5) days from the date of this notice. This is not a request for quotes; however, sources may submit descriptive literature, which fully demonstrate their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. This sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5
