- NSN 3110-00-816-6592; Part Number 10885429, The item to procure is a No-Back Device Assy. NOTICE: THE BEARING IN THIS ASSY IS NOT A STANDARD STOCKED BEARING. IT IS A DOUBLE ROW, HEAVY DUTY, ANTI-FRICTION, BALL BEARING EXCEPT THE INNER RACE OF THE BE ARING HAS AN EXTENSION THAT MAKES THIS BEARING SPECIAL. THE BEARING IS MORE COMPLEX DUE TO THIS EXTENSION AND IT IS THEREFORE MORE EXPENSIVE TO MANUFACTURE. THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE BEARING ARE GIVEN ON A DRAWING WITH AN ORDNANCE PART NUMBER. ALSO, DFARS CLAUSE 252.225-7016, RESTRICTION ON ACQUISITION OF BALL AND ROLLER BEARINGS, WILL APPLY WHICH RESTRICTS PLACE OF MANUFACTURE OF THE BEARING. PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO BOTH OF THESE FACTS BEFORE SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL. Other main components are a piec e manufactured from high carbon-chromium bearing steel, per ASTM A285, alloy 51200. .625 wide x 2.042 outside diameter x 1.8245 +.0005 inside diameter and a piece that is tool steel, .425 x .587 x 1.620. ASSEMBLY REQUIRES CLOSE TOLERANCE MACHINING TO WIT HIN .0005 INCHES. First article testing is required. The proposed contract will include a 100 percent option. Requirements are 400 each No-Back Device Assy. FOB is Destination. For use on the M109 self propelled howitzer. Estimated issue date is 12 Apr 05. All or a part of this action is an unfunded FY05 requirement. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on o r after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. The technical drawings will also be on this website when the solicitation issues. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued elec tronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet ad dress in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the r ejection of same.
