Description
To order solicitation, firms must register on the EBS website at http://www.nww.usace.army.mil/ebs/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp No other registration will be accepted. Contract Specialist for this project is Mr. Bruce Crittenden, who can be reached vi a email at Bruce.W.Crittenden@usace.army.mil Solicitation No. W912EF-05-B-0013 is expected to be issued on or about 4 Apr 2005. Bids will be opened no sooner than 30 calendar days after solicitation is issued. The work will consist of removing 3 existing transformers in transformer vault T3 and remove one existing spare transformer. Existing transformers are 55 years old. All four existing transformers are to be moved from the powerhouse intake deck to the on-site storage yard and put into long term sto rage. Construct new reinforced concrete pads in the storage yard for long term storage of the existing transformers. Provide new nitrogen cabinets, tanks, regulators and piping for the three stored transformers. Move 3 new Government furnished transform ers from the storage yard and install them in transformer vault T3 and move one new Government-furnished spare transformer from the storage yard to the storage pedestal on the intake deck. Transformers are rated 230,000 volt, are 17 feet tall, 14 feet wid e, 9 feet deep, and have a dry weight of approximately 125 tons. Modifications must be made to the transformer vault for the new transformers. Modifications will consist of concrete cutting and removal and new concrete work; removal of existing transform er oil coolers (plate heat exchangers) and associated piping; install a new deluge system (pipes, fittings and valves) to fit the configuration of the new transformers; remove associated conduit and control instrumentation, power, and relaying wiring; remo ve the existing neutral current transformer and wiring; remove the existing nitrogen cabinets for the inert gas preservation systems; furnish and install a new neutral current transformer and wiring; furnish and install fire detectors and breakglass statio ns and modify existing deluge controls including new switchboard control relays; and furnish and install associated electrical connections, conduit, power feeder breakers, instrumentation and relay wiring including annunciator window changes and new termin al blocks for connection to the new transformers. Remove approximately 7,000 gallons of oil from each transformer before it is moved and refill the transformer after completion of move. Site visit information will be included in the solicitation. Solicit ation is open to both large and small business concerns. The NAICS Code is 237130.
