- Arcata Associates Inc. intends to solicit via competition dark fiber circuits pairs for Marshall LAN data and to connect the main EADS telephone switch and LAN servers in MSFC Building 4207, the NASA Communications Building with remote locations at Graphics Drive, The Integrated Financial Management Project (IFMP), 5021 Bradford Drive, The UNITeS Bradford Facility, and 320 Sparkman Drive, The National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC). The current MSFC telephone switch has the capability to provide local dial tone to offsite facilities that are within 100,000 feet (fiber distance) of the main switch. All of these off site facilities fall within this distance. Location and associated Single-mode fiber requirements for each site are, Graphics Drive (16 strands), 5021 Bradford Drive (8 strands), 300 Sparkman Drive (10 strands) for a total of 34 strands that are now in existence. This requirement shall have one base period of eighteen (18) months and three (3) twelve (12) month options if exercised. POP for the base period shall be 7/1/05-12/31/06. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available via e-mail in approximately fifteen (15) days from the posted date of this synopsis to the firms that respond to this synopsis. The RFP will include technical documentation (SOW), and all relevant information for proposal preparation. Interested and responsible parties shall provide sufficient information not later than March 28, 2005 such as company name, point of contact, a brief history of similar telecommunications services, Solicitation Number, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address via e-mail to kaye.h.pettus@msfc.nasa.gov to request a copy of the RFP. Responses received after March 28, 2005 without the required information noted above will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis. The solicitation number must be noted on the request for the RFP.
