DDR001/MOS001 Work Site Inspection Visit Notice Work Site Visitation Notice The Maritime Administration (MARAD) intends this Notice for those potential offerors interested in responding to future solicitations associated with the following Market Survey Notices: DDR-001: Deactivation, Decommissioning, and Remediation of the NS SAVANNAH Nuclear Power Reactor, or MOS-001: Management and Oversight of the NS SAVANNAH prior to, during and post DDR. There will be a two-day work site inspection period scheduled for 04/18 and 04/19/2005. The actual site visit and containment vessel entry is scheduled for Monday 04/18/2005. This allows for a question and answer (Q&A) session on Tuesday on 4/19/2005. See the schedule of events below for details for each day. Who Should Attend If you are, a potential offeror who is interested in responding to future solicitations associated with the two market surveys identified above. Personnel Limitations Due to the potential amount of interest in the NS SAVANNAH, potential offerors will be allowed a maximum of two people to attend the actual work site inspection and three people from each potential offeror may attend the Q&A session. When The Work Site Inspection is scheduled for 18 & 19 April 2005 in conjunction with other ongoing contract work. Be advised if the number of participants at the site inspection exceeds fifty people, MARAD may reschedule to the following week to accommodate an additional site inspection day. If this occurs, the site inspection days will be April 26 and 27, with the Q&A session to follow on April 28, 2005. Make travel arrangements accordingly. Check MARAD?s VOA website for schedule changes. https://voa.marad.dot/gov. Where: MARAD will host the site inspection and Question & Answer Session aboard the NS SAVANNAH located in the James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF), FT EUSTIS, VA (Newport News, Virginia). Identification Only persons with valid government issued photo identification will be allowed to attend the Work Site Inspection with Question and Answer Session. Registration Interested offerors are required to pre-register and identify those that will be attending the session. Attendees should submit a list of personnel with the following information on Company letterhead. 1. Site Visit (Radiological Controlled Spaces) {Two People Maximum) a. Name b. Citizenship c. Place of Residency (City, State) d. Social Security Number e. Personal Mailing Address 2. Q&A Session {Three People Maximum} a. Name b. Citizenship c. Place of Residency (City, State) 3. Company Point of Contact a. Name b. Daytime Phone and e-mail PRIVACY ACT: Social Security Number and Mailing Address are being collected for SAVANNAH Radiological Exposure Records. A copy of the individual Exposure Record will be forwarded to each site inspection attendee. Company points of Contact are requested in order to follow-up with attendee questions, changes in venue (due to weather) or last minute schedules outside MARAD?s control. Liability Release Form All persons intending to visit the James River Reserve Fleet Site will also be required to complete a Personal Injury Liability Release Form. Attendees should download and complete this form prior to arrival at the JRRF. (https://voa.marad.dot.gov {click on NS SAVANNAH, then select document library}). Parking Due to the limited amount of parking space, potential offerors are encouraged to car pool. JRRF Staff will direct parking once you reach the Fleet Site. Response Due Date Registrations for those intending to visit the James River Reserve Fleet on either day of the Site Inspection Period are due NO LATER THAN: Close of business on Wednesday, April 6, 2005. WARNING: No Cameras Allowed! Cameras or cell phones will not be authorized in any of the Radiological controlled spaces. MARAD will provide photo documentation of the Containment Vessel (CV) interior and the Secondary Containment interior from the original construction as well as representative photos of these areas in their current condition. Visitors will be permitted to take photographs of non-controlled spaces. Site Schedule Site Survey Mon 4/18 0730 Potential Offerors should plan to arrive no earlier than 0730 AM. Coffee and donuts will be provided while waiting for launch service. Vehicle Base Passes Allow one-half an hour to process through the PASS office at the main gate for vehicle passes. Vehicle passes should cover both days of the site visit. The driver will require a valid driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance. If the vehicle is a rental car, the rental car agreement or contract should suffice as registration and proof of insurance. It should be noted that the vehicle is subject to search while on base. All passengers will be required to show valid identification while passing the main gate. 0830 - Launch Service Launch service will commence at 0830 from the pier. Personnel will be shuttled in groups of approximately 15-persons about every half an hour. 0900 - Site Inspection Tours Site inspection tours will include provision for the necessary protective outerwear (Tyveks coveralls). This is an industrial work site. All persons should wear suitable clothing and footwear (sneakers, skirts/dresses are not permitted) for an industrial work site. Changing rooms will not be provided. Each tour will be approximately 2-hours in length. Tour guides have been instructed not to answer any detailed or technical questions. Please write down your questions on 3 X 5 cards MARAD will provide at your arrival onboard the SAVANNAH. This is so that all of your questions may be addressed during the Q&A session. All questions and answers will be addressed during the session or soon as possible there after. These questions and their responses will be posted on MARAD?s VOA website: https:/voa.mara.dot.gov. (Click on NS SAVANNAH and Q&A) Lunch MARAD will not provide lunch. However, beverages will be provided for those wishing to brown bag lunch. Time is limited to ensure that the event completes during normal working hours of the JRRF. 1200 ? Last Launch for Tours to Ship 1300 - Last Tour Last tour of the day commences. 1600 - All Persons Accounted For Q&A Session Tue 4/19 0830 - First Launch 0945 - Last Launch for Q&A Session 1000 - Q&A Session Lunch Break MARAD will not provide lunch. However, beverages will be provided for those wishing to brown bag lunch.
