***THIS SYNOPSIS IS BEING AMENDED TO CHANGE THE DATE THE SOLICITATION WILL BE RELEASED FROM MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2005 TO ON OR ABOUT FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2005, AND THE DATE THE OFFERS ARE DUE FROM FEBRUARY 18, 2005 T0 MARCH 1, 2005.*** The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), has a requirement for temporary labor services to be called in, on an as needed basis, to perform specific cleaning tasks of animal stalls and handling of horses in the quarantined area to support the Animal Import/Export Center in Miami Florida. The cleaning duties will encompass 90% of the tasks, and the handling of the horses will account for 10% of the work for this labor position. A firm fixed-price, services contract is anticipated for these labor services. The effective period of the contract shall be March 1, 2005, or date of award, whichever is later, through September 30, 2005. The contract will include a base and four 1-year unilateral options to extend the effective period. The annual requirement for labor services may range from a minimum of 500 hours guaranteed, and up to but not to exceed 3,000 hours maximum. The solicitation, 034-M-APHIS-05, will be released at www.fedbizopps.gov on or about February 7, 2005 and will be a 100% small business set-aside, therefore, all responsible small businesses may submit an offer. After release, one may download a copy of the solicitation at www.fedbizopps.gov. NOTIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE SENT TO OFFERER’S REGARDING THE ISSUANCE OF THE SOLICITATION NOR ANY OF ITS AMENDMENTS. IT IS THE OFFERER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THIS WEB SITE PERIODICALLY FOR UPDATES. The NAICS code is 561720 with a size standard of $14 million dollars. Proposals shall be submitted to the contracting activity by the date and time indicated in the invitation for proposal which is anticipated to be on or about February 18, 2005. All proposals shall have the solicitation number placed on the front of the proposal envelope.
