- Description
- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk, Detachment, Philadelphia intends to acquire on a sole source basis tariffed, recurring telephone services for the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station (NCTAMS) Atlantic (LANT) Norfolk in support of its Base Communication Office (BCO) at the Naval Shipyard Portsmouth, NH. Firm Fixed Price task order with Verizon under the applicable Basic Agreement issued by the Defense Commercial Communications Office (DECCO) is contemplated. Services provided by Verizon include seven local Verizon ISDN Primary Rate circuits with 6,999 Verizon phone extensions configured into a Definity G3r PBX. These circuits are critical to video, voice, and data services for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. This solution contains local services, including advanced calling packages and high-speed Internet connections. In addition, Verizon has installed and currently maintains a Single Line Carrier system to support such functions as coin operated phones and special service circuits. The scheduled period of performance for the required telecommunication services encompasses 01 October 2003 through 30 September 2004 plus four (4) one-year option provisions to extend the term of the procurement(s) through 30 September 2008. The Government intends to solicit on other than a full and open competitive basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies will Satisfy Agency Requirements, with Verizon Communications, 185 Franklin Street, Boston, MA 02111. This application is not provided by any other known vendor in the applicable geographical areas. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement action based upon responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to this notice. Numbered note 22 applies.
