Description
" Small Disadvantage Business (SDB) " Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) " Historically Underutilized Business Zone Small Business (HUB-Zone) " Service-Disable Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, and materials for constructing trail and lateral dikes by placement of Graded Stone A and 250 lb. Riprap. Total tonnage of this project will be approximately 350,000 tons of both Graded Stone A and 250 lb. Riprap. Construction of the trail dikes along sandbars in the Mississippi River will require use of both land based and barge mounted equipment. Construction of the trail dikes will require advanced surveying techniques and specialized equipment. Construct ion on the sandbars will require bulldozers, hydraulic excavators, and large off-road end-dump trucks. Construction of the trail dikes in the Mississippi River will require multiple rock barges, two to four switch boats, spud barge working off of sea ancho rs and cables, large hydraulic excavator with a 5 ton bucket, and other equipment as necessary to achieve a 10,000 ton per day production rate. Portion of the project is located in the main channel of the Mississippi River which experiences swift currents, variable river stages, and heavy barge traffic. The Contractor will be required to provide a contact pilot to coordinate with the towing industry and the U.S. Coast Guard.
