- Description
- The VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System (ECHS), located in Denver, Colorado, is seeking a qualified Architectural Engineering (A/E) firm to provide design through construction period services to renovate and upgrade security access and upgrade of the sterile preparation area of the existing pharmacy area located in Building 1, first floor of the ECHS Medical Center as contemplated by Project 554-05-001. The selected A/E firm shall provide all technical services, including architectural, mechanical and electrical, required for upgrading and renovating the areas to comply with all JCAHO and USP requirements. The project includes renovation of existing sterile preparation work area, security renovations, and creation of a waiting area, renovation of existing receiving and distribution areas and floor replacement. The estimated construction range is between $250,000 and $500,000. Selection criteria, in descending order of importance, include (1) experience of the firm, both prime and consultants, in design and construction of security and in medical environments specifically with JCAHO and USP requirements; (2) professional qualifications of the firm’s staff and consultants assigned to the project; (3) geographical location of the firm within a 100 mile radius of the ECHS, Denver, Colorado; (4) ability of the firm to begin work within 30 days after award of a contract; and (5) demonstrated success in incorporating the use of recovered materials and achieving waste reduction and energy efficiency in the design. In accordance with FAR Part 19.10, Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, this acquisition is reserved for Emerging Small Business (ESB) concerns only under NAICS Code 541310 with a Business Size Standard of $4.0 million. All interested firms meeting the criteria for an ESB are required to submit two (2) recent completed Standard Form (SF) 330, Architect Engineer Qualifications, in accordance with Numbered Note 24 to the Contracting Officer shown above no later than 4:00 p.m. (Mountain Time), Friday, April 29, 2005. Solicitation 259-073-05 has been assigned and should be referenced on all correspondence regarding this announcement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Interested firms are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.12, prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications in conjunction with FAR 4.11 required registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract.
