Description
The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command – Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is conducting a market survey to identify sources to develop and manufacture Soft Recovery Vehicle (SRV) units for use on both the M483A1 spinning artillery projectile and the M549 rocket assisted spinning artillery projectile to achieve a low final descent rate (<=40 m/s) to be used by the Precision Guidance Kit (PGK) Program. These units must not change the mass properties or aerodynamics of the rounds mentioned. The unit must survive the high-g environment of gun launch and function properly (up to 20000 g’s). The contractor must possess the technical capability to complete the necessary development of this unit as well as complete the manufacture of the required units including requisite engineering staff, equipment and expertise to satisfy the US Government requirements. The contractor shall; (i) design and qualify: SRV unit through necessary testing; (ii) manufacture and deliver: up to (25) SRV units; (iii) submit reports in accordance with the Contract Data Requirements List, DD 1423 for each unit. All technical data will be marked with limited distribution and dissemination only as directed by the ARDEC Engineering team or higher authority. Firms with the experience in the areas cited above should provide a summary of their company’s capabilities including a description of facilities, personnel and past experience to meet this requirement by 11 April 2005. Respondent’s are asked to provide a Rough Order of Magnitude Estimate for the anticipated effort as well. The Federal Service Code for this program is AC54, NAICS code is 541330, and the SIC code is 8711. All responses must include company name, address, POC, phone number, fax number, email address, business size, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number and CAGE code.
