Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plans to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis to Chemical Abstracts Service, Columbus, OH, under the authority of FAR 13.106(b), Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purpose of this requirement is for a subscription to Chemical Abstracts Full Service-52 weekly printed issues plus printed volume indexes for the period January 1, 2006 to December 30, 2006. Chemical Abstracts Service is the only source for this subscription since they are the publishers of the subscription issues and they have no distributors. The anticipated award date of this order is on or about five (5) days from the date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to this requirement no later than the response date above. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. For information, call the POC identified below.
