Description
Quotes will be due 4/22/2005 at 2:00 p.m. This procurement is set aside for HUBZone Small Business Concerns Only. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to issue a firm fixed price contract. The contract will cover the dockside repairs of NOAA Ship THOMAS JEFFERSON. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform the following (including, but not limited to): Base Items - Ship Service Diesel Generator Upgrades, Aft 01 Deck Modifications, Stability Test Support, Main & Forecastle Deck BERP Repairs, Hydrographic Survey Launch Installation, Option Items ? Moving Vessel Profiler Installation, Miscellaneous Piping Repairs, Miscellaneous Steel Renewal and an estimated number of hours for Growth Work. The performance period is 30 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of June 10, 2005. Anticipated award date is May 10, 2005. Two (2) site/inspection periods are anticipated, as follows: 3/25/2005 to 4/3/2005 and 4/15/2005 to 4/17/2005. Arrangement to attend one or both of these site visits shall be coordinated with the Port Engineer, Neil Lamartin at 757-441-6369. The THOMAS JEFFERSON is 208 feet long and its home pier is in Norfolk, Virginia. It is the NOAA?s intent to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This procurement is being issued as a 100% HUBZone Small Business set-aside in accordance with FAR 52.219-3. The NAIC code is 336611. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a best value Request for Quote (RFQ) evaluating past performance and price, on or about March 28, 2005 with quotes due on or about April 28, 2005. The RFQ will be issued via electronic posting at Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPPS) web page www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the RFQ will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor FEDBIZOPS for the release of the RFQ, specification, drawings and all subsequent amendments.
