Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWC Division Newport intends to place a sole-source purchase order with Kollmorgen Corp, Radford, VA to refurbish one (1) Brushless D.C. Motor P/N BMHR13301 and to verify performance in accordance with Kollmorgen test procedure TP-21553. Refurbishment will include upgrade of the BDCM pressure compensators to the current production configuration. Kollmorgen is the only source capable of refurbishing P/N BMHR13301 because Kollmorgen does not authorize, equip, or make available the information and hardware necessary to make the required upgrades and repairs to this custom motor. A formal solicitation under N66604-05-Q-3006 should be issued within the next week. Any challenges to this sole source action should be brought to the attention of the Contracts Negotiator, Matthew F. Grzyb at (401)-832-6007.
