- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 002 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR 2-BAND OPTICAL PYROMETER TEMPERATURE SENSORS. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions: QUESTION 1: Subject RFQ includes the term "(turnkey operation)" in the description of the item wanted. This term comes immediately after the words "right angle mounting". Please explain what "turnkey operation" means relative to the hardware requested. ANSWER 1: The term "turnkey operation" is meant to indicate that the 2-Band optical pyrometer temperature sensors comes with a sensor unit and appropriate cable so that it can be setup without additional needed equipment. In addition, the pyrometer also provides a visual readout of the temperature with input controls so that it does not have to be used in conjunction with a computer. QUESTION 2: The weight requirement is stated as of "under 4 pounds". The weight of the pyrometer is 3.1 lbs, however the additional combined weight of the universal adapter, the interconnecting cable assembly, and the right angle mount will exceed this 4 pound amount. Is this acceptable? ANSWER 2: The 4 lbs refers to the senor head only, not the cables or other pieces. The due date for receipt of offers is not. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on April 1, 2005. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
