Description
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) plans to procure a KinTek Corporation model RQF-3 Rapid Quench-Flow Instrument or equal. This acquisition will be conducted under the procedures for acquiring commercial items authorized in FAR Part 12 and the authority to use simplified procedures for commercial requirements provided in FAR 13.5. This acquisition will be set-aside small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500 employees. The following salient characteristics apply to the KinTek model RQF-3 Rapid Quench Flow instrument or equal: 1) Single servo motor. The motor is digitally controlled with 4096 points per revolution with resolver feedback; 2) Eight (8) aging lines rather than one (1); 3) Sealed keyboard; 4) Vertically mounted syringe/valve chamber; 5) syringe volume and range: 5 ml standard with capability to use other syringes in various sizes, in addition syringes of 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 10.0 ml; 6) temperature range of 0-70 degree C and; 7) width, depth, and height: Quench flow stand shall measure 20 x 48 x 91 cm, Motor controller shall measure 30 x 28 x 15 cm and keyboard shall measure 29 x 18 x 4.4 cm. Performance: minimum reaction time 2 milliseconds with capability to program up to 10,000 seconds. In addition, the contractor must provide instrument installation and training.
