Description
The attached document is being provided to industry in order to provide industry with information regarding the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) intent for specification requirements for the semiflush flasher. Further it provides industry with the opportunity to comment on the development of the specification. In the event industry has comments or recommendations on how best to improve the content of this draft specification please provide such comments and recommendations to the following: Federal Aviation Administration, 800 Independence Ave., SW, Washington, D.C. 20591 Attn: Troy Teachey, ATO-A It is the FAA's expectation that the new specification will be utilized to procure equipment which supports three possible situations. They are as follows: 1-The resupply or continuance of existing circuit elements in legacy subsystems involving semiflush flashers in MALSRs and ALSFs . 2-The retrofit of existing MALSR and ALSF systems with a flasher subsystem including semiflush flashers. 3-The installation of new MALSRs and ALSFs with a flasher subsystem including semiflush flashers. Any comments and recommendations provided will be reviewed to ensure they are not written for the benefit of a specific commercial product but rather for to improve the quality of the equipment defined by the resultant specification. Any discussions which are necessary on this draft specification, comments received, and recommendations received will be held in an open forum. The FAA is looking forward to receiving and reviewing your input to this document and this process. All input to be reviewed and considered with regard to this specification should be delivered not later than 16 May 2005. The FAA cannot guarantee that comments or recommendations made and received after that date will be considered in this specification development.
