Description
This is a sources sought announcement only and is not an intent to procure. A solicitation is not available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The Naval Air Systems Command, Weapons Division is conducting market research to determine the availability of small tactical grade 3 axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). Key parameters of interest are (1) Size (fits in 2.55 inch diameter by 1.5 inch length cylinder), (2) Low power (less than 10 watts), (3) Fast turn on (less than 1 sec preferred), (4) Operates within spec from -25 deg C to 85 deg C, (5) Hermetically sealed, (6) Serial IMU data format at a greater than 500 Hz data rate, (7) Gyro performance of linear rate to +/-1000 degree/sec, 1000 ppm scale factor error, 750 ppm skew error, 70 degree/hr bias turnoff to turn on, Angular Random walk of less than 0.25 deg/sqrt(hr), (8) Accelerometer performance of linear acceleration (specific force) to +/- 35g?s (to 70 g's preferred), ! 1000 ppm scale factor error, 750 ppm skew error, 3 mg bias turnoff to turn on, Velocity Random walk of less than 0.5 m/sec per sqrt(hr), (9) Rough Order of Magnitude cost/schedule. For evaluation purposes, each potential source is requested to provide a brief description of work previously or currently being performed, which specifically demonstrates the contractor's ability to successfully satisfy the requirement description herein. Additionally, each source should provide a list of currently available products, as well as their anticipated delivery schedule, specifications, and estimated commercial pricing information. If current products do not meet the above specifications, but can be modified to meet them, please supply information as to what modifications would be necessary. Also indicate if these modifications are of a type customarily available in the commercial marketplace. Firms are also invited to submit any literature, brochures, or references necessary to support claims of being able to meet or exceed the requirement. In addition, responses must include the following: name and address of firm; commercial activity/government entity (CAGE) code; size of business relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code (336414); and, point of contact name, title, phone, and email. Your response to this sources sought will be treated as information only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this sources sought or the Government use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or part, any contractor input resulting from this sources sought. This sources sought does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by the Navy in developing its acquisition strategy and in its Statement of Work/Statement of Objectives and Performance Specifications.
