- The U.S. Treasury Department Office of Technical Assistance is recruiting an experienced professional in the area of Tax Administration for a resident assignment in Afghanistan. QUALIFICATIONS: Treasury is seeking a candidate who possesses expertise in all areas of tax administration, to include Audit, Collection, Returns Processing, Tax Forms Redesign, Taxpayer Service and Education, Media Relations, Human Resources, Training and Information Systems. Resident positions require candidates to have significant project management experience, to include the ability to prepare project work plans, statements of work and manage resources. Prior foreign assistance work and knowledge of a foreign language are highly desirable, but not required. In addition to technical skills, we are looking for an individual with outstanding communication skills, capable of listening to the client and then providing effective oral and written responses. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or U.S. resident aliens. SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salaries are negotiable in accordance with government regulations based on demonstrated salary history and market comparability of similar positions. The salary range is from $85,000 to $149,200. Overseas benefits are provided as allowed by federal regulations. Successful applicants will be subject to a background investigation at the appropriate level.
