Part : U.S. Government Procurements Subpart : Medical Supplies Classcode : Medical Devices OfficeAdd : Department of Veteran Affairs, Contracting Officer 90C, Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), Building 41, 2200 Fort Roots Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72114-1706 Subject : Consignment Agreement with Cordis/J & J ?Intent to negotiate Sole Source for Cypher Stents SOL RFP No. 598-39-05 The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) intends to negotiate and award Cypher Stents to JJ/Cordis on a sole source basis. Cost range is $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Cypher stents as in recent tests with head to head comparison with other stents JJ/Cordis was better than other competitors in terms of restenosis and we get cases of restenosis with Cypher where you need a different drug coated stent. Other stents utilized within our facility are compatible with the cipher stents but utilize different drugs. Price is not the determining factor for the use of a particular type stent. Further, there shall be an inventory maintained within our hospital facility for stent case purposes.This announcement shall close on or about April 15, 2005.
