- The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of contractors to provide medical consultant services in the specialty of Psychology. This procurement will be for commercial item services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Consultation services shall consist of the paper review of medical evidence in disability claims on-site only at 1221 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA. No patient contact. Offerors must: (1) have a valid license to practice psychology in the US; (2) have current or recent clinical experience related to the specialties listed, or experience reviewing/adjudicating disability cases in the specialties listed, and (3) be available for onsite work a minimum of 12 hours per week, at least 2 days per week and for 44 weeks of the calendar year between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. All potential contractors will be required to pass a security background check before beginning performance on an award. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. To register in the CCR at the website: www.ccr.gov, applicants must have a DUN and Bradstreet number and Tax Identification Number (TIN). Competitive pricing will be solicited and accepted. SSA anticipates awarding firm fixed-price, indefinite-quantity contracts with a period of performance from approximately June 1, 2005 or date of award, whichever is later, through December 31, 2005. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification System code (NAICS) is 621112 and the size standard is 8.5M. Proposals received from other than small business will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. The solicitation (and any amendments) will be available for downloading on or about April 14, 2005.
