- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) currently has an urgent and compelling requirement for logistics support for supply, training, technical documentation, and emergency response on approximately 90 Mitsubishi uninterruptible power system (UPS) operational systems in the National Airspace System (NAS). These services provided by the UPS are essential in the day-to-day activities of the operations at NAS and provide critical power to radars, TRACONs, and other FAA systems. Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer and controls all proprietary data, training, materials, software coding, and second/third level engineering expertise for the emergency restoral. Additionally, they control configuration management and revision levels of sparing. Mitsubishi controls and owns all data and exercise rights associated, and no other vendor has legal access to this information. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc., Chicago, Illinois. This announcement is for informational purposes only; not a request for proposals.
