IF YOU WOULD LIKE A MORE EASILY READABLE COPY OF THIS NOTICE, PLEASE CONTACT DEBORAH KOVAL AT 708/786-4383 OR DEBORAH.KOVAL@MED.VA.GOV SUBJ: Sources Sought Notice for Pharmaceutical Repackaging Service This is a Market Survey and Request for Information to locate potential sources to serve as a unit-of-use repackager of generic pharmaceuticals needed by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) healthcare facilities to satisfy VA inpatient and outpatient needs. The VA National Acquisition Center (NAC) will purchase the products and arrange for delivery of such products to the contractor for repackaging. Contractor will receive orders from the facilities and ship FOB Destination on a daily basis. The cost of shipping is a component of the contractors repackaging fee. The VA is responsible for all Inventory Management decisions (i.e. when to order stock, what size bottle to put the drug into, how to adjust customer orders). The duration of this contract is anticipated to be a base year plus 4 one-year option periods. Some of the responsibilities of the contractor are listed below: 1. Repackage and label (according to VA specifications), all drugs ordered by the VA, in unit-of-use packages. 2. Contractor must be capable of shipping to as many as 160 hospitals and 7 Consolidated Mail Outpatient facilities, located in every state, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and Guam. 3. On a monthly basis, the contractor shall submit an invoice to the VA for its repackaging fees, accompanied by a detailed report. 4. The contractor must operate its repackaging facility in a manner that meets all applicable FDA standards. OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. A formal solicitation will be issued at a later date. Potential offerors should provide the following information at a minimum: a) Information regarding your ability to provide these services, and services your company currently provides commercially. b) The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this industry is 493110, and the small business size determination is any company under $21.5 million in average annual receipts. Based on the NAICS code, please indicate your company?s size. c) Information regarding how these services are priced commercially. d) Any additional information that may be useful in determining how the pharmaceutical repackaging industry operates commercially. Interested sources shall respond to this notice at their earliest convenience but no later than April 14, 2005. Responses will be accepted via regular mail, fax, or electronic mail.
