Description
This is a request for information only. Presently no solicitation package is available. The Aerial Refueling Store Support Equipment management team located at the Naval Air Warfare center Aircraft Division Lakehurst is seeking sources that may be capable of providing the Kit, Protective Cover ARS. The intention of this kit is to protect the Air, Fuel and Electrical fittings of an Aerial Refueling Store. The Navy?s requirement is for the fabrication, manufacturing and delivery of 70 kits (each kit contains two (2) polyurethane covers packaged in a transit case). The manufacturer shall deliver these kits at a rate of 10 kits per month, beginning ninety (90) days after contract award. A breakout of the major kit components and a brief description follow: 1. Cover: A polyurethane casting (durometer 95A) 20.75 long x 4.00 wide x 3.25 high. The casting includes a stainless steel 2.50-12 UN threaded insert vulcanized in place. The insert is machined from stainless steel pipe stock. The Cover also includes two (2) cast polyurethane gaskets (durometer 15A), which must be bonded to the main casting. Good process control of the bonding process is essential. A suggested source of supply for the complete cover is included in the technical data package. The contractor must provide a First Article Test Unit. The First Article Test Unit will be destructively tested. 2. Transit Case Assembly: A fiberglass case with cutouts in the foam inserts designed to accept two (2) of the described covers. A suggested source of supply is included in the technical data package. 3. Lug: A two-piece threaded lug. One piece is steel 2.50-12UN threaded round, .75 long, zinc coated in accordance with ASTM B633 and then powder coated. The second piece is a machined aluminum shank and handle with powder coat finish. Approximate dimensions are 3.00 diameter x 2.87 long. 4. Kit Identification Plate: The technical data package contains required information to be included on the nameplate. A written response detailing corporate capability and experience in handling similar work of the same scope, size and complexity to support the requirements above is required. The response shall include personnel who will be assigned to the procurement and their experience level; and the company?s ability to manage the workload to the meet the fore- mentioned delivery schedule, including facilities, resources, financial capability and any subcontracts with Large Businesses. The response shall be in white paper (summary) format, no greater than five (5) pages, along with any supporting data/material, which shall not exceed a total of twenty-five (25) pages. Three (3) copies of each response are required. All responses must be hardcopy, no electronic submissions allowed. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this request nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. Specifications for the Kit, Protective Cover ARS are subject to Export Control regulations and will only be released to firms who are certified with the DLSC for receipt of Military Critical Technical Data. It is requested that all interested parties submit a current completed and certified DD Form 2345 (Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement) to NAWCADLKE Contracting Office.
