Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Florida intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Complete Parachute Systems, 1200 Flightline Boulevard, Deland, Florida for the procurement of component parts to support the Advanced Ram Air Parachute System (ARAPS). The items being procured consist of the following: four (4) military instruction system (p/n CPS-SOV3-MI), four (4) VHG harness (p/n CPS-VGH-SS), four (4) aluminum hook knives (p/n CPS-HOOKKNIFE-METAL), four (4) centerline collapsible main pilot chutes (p/n CPS-PCM-C-1-PH), four (4) hackeys (p/n CPS-HAC), two (2) silhouette 170 main canopies (p/n CPS-SI-170), one (1) stiletto 150 main canopy (p/n CPS-ST-120), two (2) reserve canopies (p/n CPS-PR-176), one (1) PR-126 reserve canopy (p/n CPS-PR-126), one (1) PD-160 reserve canopy (p/n CPS-PR-160), four (4) gear bags (p/n CPS-GPL-001), two (2) custom jumpsuits (p/n CPS-MERLIN-CUSTOM), and one (1) test chamber (p/n CPS-TC-10). The items being procured! are needed for final design review for replacement for the MC-5 Ram Air Parachute System. The equipment is being procured on behalf of the Marine Corps SOCOM Detachment One. The Commandant has ordered, through direct liaison with Marine Corp War Fighting Lab (MCWL), Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), and USSCOM Developmental Test Section, to acquire equipment under Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) that would enhance the force contribution and lethality of the U.S. Marine Corp. Each item will continue to be tested to rigid requirements for power consumption, power output, range, depth, altitude, etc. Only those articles, which have been successfully tested, are qualified. The objective of this process is to verify that the system provides acceptable levels of safety and mission critical support throughout the system specific operating range. The intent of the process is to provide maximum reasonable assurance that the mission can be completed and ! an accident will not occur. The items being procured are only available from Complete Parachute Systems. The anticipated award date will be on or about April 15, 2005. Delivery will be to the Naval Support Activity - Panama City, Receiving Officer, Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7018. Period of performance will be 60 days from issuance of the order. NAICS Code 314999. Size Standard is 500 Employees. FSC 1670.
