Description

The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a noncompetitive award to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for field studies of ove MeHg exposure in common loons and manipulation of ovo MeHg exposure via injection techniques. The Wisconsin DNR is considered the only source reasonably available for this study because they have provided field support for past phases of this study. The Wisconsin DNR technicians are well-acquainted with the region that has been the study site for the past 13 years and with loon habits and common loon capture techniques. The Wisconsin DNR also coordinates this project with other ongoing loon research activities in the four-county study area. No other known source is able to perform as required. The period of performance is 5/1/2005 - 6/30/2005. The anticipated award date is 5/11/2005. NAICS = 541990. Firms that think they can furnish the required service may submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other materials. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement. See Note 22.
