Description

This amendment number 02 to synopsis/solicitation W9124R-5068-0003 is issued to clarify answer to question 5 on amendment 01. Due date for proposals remains 4:30 pm MST 11 April 2005. The following request to clarify Government response to question 5 was received: Regarding YPG responses to questions 4 & 5, I now understand that there is an existing roll up door at the upper 2nd floor level and we are to provide an electrical/mechanical interlock for this existing roll-up door. We have these two follow-up question s/clarifications: Q5A) Is this existing roll-up door closed when the lift is not present or is it an emergency fire roll-up door that only closes in the event of a fire? A5A) The existing door provides access to the floor. Material is currently moved to the floor by forklift through this door. The door is closed when the lift is not present. There is also an accordion style steel sliding door on the inside of the rol lup door. This steel sliding door is secured except during material handling operations. Q5B) Do we need to include a new interlocked double swing door at this level in addition to the fire roll-up door? A5B) A new double swing door for the upper floor will not be required if the existing door is interlocked to the VRC. The interlocking devices or new door shall be provided with the VRC.
