- The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, will be issuing a Request for Quotation number W912DY-05-T-0020 for the impending procurement of the following course: Architectural Hardware Quality Verification. The Request for Quotati on will be issued on or about April 13, 2005. This procurement is a 100 percent Small Business Set Aside. NAICS code is 611430. All responsible Small Businesses may submit a quotation. Size Standard is $6.0 Million. Complete technical evaluation crite ria shall be set forth in the solicitation. All quotations shall be due by 10:30 a.m. CST, May 4, 2005. To be considered eligible for award, the successful Quoter must be registered with the DOD Central Contractor Registration (CCR). The following Inter net site is provided for registration information: www.ccr.gov. It is the sole responsibility of the Quoter to register in CCR. Questions regarding this notice should be submitted only via email to: Myra.N.Maack@hnd01.usace.army.mil. No telephone calls . First course session is scheduled for June 20-24, 2005. One course per year is anticipated. An award for one base year and three option years is anticipated. Length of course is 36 hours, with approximately 60 students per session. Contractor requ irements are to revise and update existing course materials and present this course at the designated locations. The purpose of this course is to develop new skills oriented to the quality verification of hardware used in building construction. It also u pdates the students knowledge of current industry practices and changes in specifications. The course presents the fundamentals of the industry including hardware materials and finishes their purpose, use and application; basic information covering all a rchitectural hardware products, terminology, and types of doors and frames; and the fundamentals of hardware schedules, preparation, and use. Emphasis is placed on how to interpret a hardware schedule for installation purposes and field use, as well as an analysis of a hardware schedule sub?mitted to the designer for approval. Contractor Requirements. The offeror shall provide an instructor team of not more than four instructors. Designated teaching instructors shall be specifically named as such. Eac h instructor should have a minimum of ten years of experience in the architectural hardware industry. Each instructor shall be certified as an Architectural Hardware Consultant or certified Door Consultant. Each instructor shall have had 175 hours of tra ining experience during the past five years in architectural hardware-related courses. This experience shall have involved instructing adult learners in a work-related rather than an academic setting. Each instructor shall have utilized the Corps of Engi neers Guide Specifications within the past three years in a training environment.
