Description
Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with Bell-Boeing on a sole source basis to develop, manufacture, integrate, test, and deliver Block A/B Upgrades to the Aircraft Maintenance Trainer (AMT) #2 with options to develop, manufacture, integrate, test, and deliver the MV-Cabin Part Task Trainer (CPTT), and develop, manufacture, integrate, test, and deliver Block A/B Upgrades to the Landing Gear PTT, the Consolidated V-22 Electronic Maintenance Trainer (CVEMT), Power Plant Training Article, Sponson PTT, and the I-Level training device to support CV-22 Aircraft maintenance training requirements. Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office (JPO), 22398 James Rd. Patuxent River, MD 20670 will perform the effort. The Contractor will be responsible for the development, manufacture, integration, testing, and delivery of the maintenance trainers. The Trainers will be used to acquire and sustain the skills procedures, and techniques required to perform V-22 flight and fuselage related tasks. The Bell-Boeing team is the designer, developer, and sole producer of the V-22 tilt rotor aircraft and is currently performing the engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) and the low-rate initial-production (LRIP) of these aircraft. Bell-Boeing is the only source that possesses the engineering data; technical skills; and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, and operational characteristics of the V-22 aircraft to design and build the required maintenance trainers.See Note 22
