- Description
- To be delievered to Lajes Field, Air Base 4, Azores Portugal. NITROGEN, LIQUID (LIN) (Firm Fixed Price, FFP) not less than 99.5 percent by volume of N2 with characteristics as set forth in this instrument. To be delivered in Contractor-Owned tank cars and to be filled into U.S. Government-Owned tanks at Building T-824 at Lajes Field Air Base, Azores, Portugal. Conversion Formula based on the official conversion factors for Liquid Gases, here for LIQUID NITROGEN (LIN): 1 GAL = 3,785 Liter (L) 1 L = 0,691 m3 7,785 x 0,691 = 2.615 factor to be used as formula DEFINITION: GAL = GALLON 1. ESTIMATED QUANTITIES The estimated quantities which may be ordered against the resulting contract(s) are indicated as 3,000 ? 5,000 gallons. 2. SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF WORK: LIQUID NITROGEN: (1) The Liquid Nitrogen shall be produced in a process utilizing liquefaction of air and compressed by a cryogenic liquid converter or a water sealed or dry sealed compressor. (2) The liquid nitrogen shall have purity of not less than 99.5 percent by volume of N2. The maximum permissible oxygen content by volume of 0.50 percent and the maximum moisture content shall be 0.02 mgH2O/per liter of gas. (3) Odor - The nitrogen shall be free of oil contamination and shall have hydrocarbon level of less then 50 pp as methane by volume detectable by odor or by test. Quality Assurance Provision: (i) Responsibility: - The Contractor is responsible for the performance of tests to assure that gases conform to prescribed requirements. The frequency of tests shall be considered normal and standard throughout the trade. The Contractor may use his own facility or any commercial laboratory.
