Description

Lightweight Motor Blower (LWMB) for the M48 CB Chem-Bio Mask, the ITAAPS, and the Medical Evacuation Set (MES). It provides a constant filtered airflow to the user's face piece providing users with a higher safety factor due to the positive pressure in the mask. The airflow helps prevent the users' face piece from fogging and greatly reduces breathing effort as the powered airflow reduces the additional pulmonary stress associated with negative pressure respirators. This solicitation is issued as a five year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity acquisition with a guaranteed minimum quantity of 500 each LWMB. Planned release date of the solicitation is 27 APR 2005. The Government may order up to a maximum of quantity of 50,000 each LWMB over the life of the contract. The C2A1 estimated requirements over the 5-year period are 18,000 each. No First Article is required. FOB is Blue Grass Army Depot. All or part of this action is currently unfunded. The solicitation is restricted, sole source, to Safety Tech International, Inc., 5703 Industry Lane, Frederick, MD 21704 and will result in a firm fixed price contract. Offers from concerns other than the above are not solicited. Published for subcontracting purposes only. This solicitation incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that cannot be provided via the internet. Vendors who need this TDP in order to prepare a bid or proposal are instructed to request same by submission of an email request to: tacom-ri-tdp@ri a.army.mil.
