- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, in Redwood City, CA has a requirement for an 8 to 10 day vessel charter to support seafloor imaging, light seismic work, and some sea floor sampling offshore from Seward, Alaska and possibly Valdez, Alaska. Project dates are 6/20/2005 through 7/20/2005. The depths of the work areas range from 30 to 200 meters. The ship must be capable of deploying oceanographic equipment over the side using a U-Frame, J-Frame or boom arrangement, with a safe working load of 2,000 pounds for coring, as well as being capable of flying a 500 lb tow fish. The vessel must have a winch and wire capable of coring in up to 200 meters of water. The ship must have a dry lab area with 6 to 8 feet of counter space, as well as room for 4 to 5 scientists during science operations. This requirement is set-aside for small business. All small business sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS code is 483112, for which the small business size standard is 500 employees.
