Description
Provide professional architect-engineer design services for various projects at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The design services required shall include developing designs, construction drawings, specifications, estimates, schedules, surveys and studies for building alterations/renovations for the installation of new and existing production equipment and equipment to meet environmental/safety requirements; building repairs and office renovations in the main and annex buildings of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The Contractor must have the ability to provide all engineering design disciplines (such as mechanical, structural, electrical, architectural, fire protection, environmental, etc.). When required, the Contractor must also provide additional specialty design services such as landscape architecture, interior design, acoustical design, artistic renderings, historical preservation, etc. Construction period services and site visits will also be required in varying degrees for the various projects. The intent is to make multiple IDIQ master contract awards (maximum 5) to firms responding to this announcement for a period of one (1) year with an option for four (4) additional option years. The area of consideration is restricted to firms located within a 150 mile radius of Washington, DC. Award of individual task orders is contingent upon project funding and may vary in scope and size. Selection criteria will be based on (1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of general building alterations/renovations, repairs of historical and industrial facilities, (2) Specialized experience and technical competence with general renovation projects, highly technical equipment installation projects and industrial building renovation projects, (3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time, (4) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work and compliance with performance schedules, (5) Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project (6) Experience of CADD operators and availability of technical equipment facilities such as compatibility of computer systems such as scheduling systems, cost estimating systems/software, word processing system. Interested A/E firms are invited to submit three (3) copies of the SF 330, Architect-Engineer Qualifications to the Contracting Office no later than close of business, May 9, 2005. This building is not accessible for hand delivery unless you make arrangements with the Contracting Office prior to delivery. All packages hand delivered must be received by 3:30 p.m. on May 9, 2005. This is not a Request for Proposal. See Numbered Note 24.
