Description
GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION SAFETY RAIL PROJECT INSTALLMENT OF SAFETY RAILS ON ROOF AT CENTRAL HEATING and REFRIGERATION PLANT. A. Scope of Work 1. The contractor shall furnish all of the necessary equipment, labor, supplies, and supervision to complete the Work to be performed at the Central Heating and Refrigeration Plant located at 13th & C. Street S.W.. Washington D.C. 20407. 2. The contractor shall furnish and install safety rails and posts, all rails and rail posts to be 1.5 inches in dim. and made out of standard pipe. 3. All post shall be 42 inches high and two feet from the existing wall on the roof. 4. All post stands shall be made out of flat standard pipe .5 inches by 3 inches. 5. All materials to be hot dip galvanized after fabrication. 6. There will not be any cutting or drilling in to the existing roof at Central Plant. 7. All rails to be free standing. 8. All welds, burns,drilling and gringing to be tech up with cold galvanizing. 9. The total length of the Safety railings will be 350 feet. 10. The contractor shall follow all OSHA safety regulations until final inspection of the project. 11. All building interior or exterior finishes damaged by new work will be restored to the original condition by the contractor. 12. The contractor shall follow all the rules of Central Plant while working there. 13. The contractor shall clean there work area after the end of each day. 14. The contractor shall perform all work between the hours of 7am and 3:30pm. B. General Contract Specifications 1. The contractor shall complete the work specified under this contract within 20 calendar days from the receipt of the Notice To Proceed. Failure to complete the contract within the stipulated time shall result in liquidated damages of $100 being assessed for each day of the contract in excess of the 45 days. 2. The contractor shall ensure that his/her employees have proper identification in accordance with the regulations stipulated for the Central Heating Plant. The Central Heating Plant is a Security Level 5 facility; the Contractor shall comply with all security regulations for this facility. For each Contractor employee or subcontractor performing work in the CHP for a period of thirty days or longer, the Contractor shall submit to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) the following information: A pre-bid conference will be held on May 10, 2005 at 13th & C. street S.W.
