- Construction document RFP 618-135-05 is issued full and open competition in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program; a 10% credit preference will be given to concerns who are SDVOB or VOB, or to large business firms that propose the use of SDVOB or VOB. The procurement is entitled ?RELOCATE WATERLINE, ENERGY CENTER? for and at VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN. BASE BID: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment to accomplish verification of existing site utilites in and around construction limits, excavation/site work, removal/disposal of existing 4? pumped condensate pipe, installation of waterline with shut-off valves (at main junction and inside Building) from water main to Energy Center, penetrate concrete steam tunnel to route pipe into Energy Center, route pipe (utilizing existing pipe hangers and brackets) and incorporate new waterline into existing system within Energy Center; new construction will consist of, but not be limited to site work/excavation/backfill, concrete boring (pipe penetration), new water line install with proper restraints and bracing at bends, valve install, asphalt repair, proper fire-stopping and sealing around pipe penetrations, limited concrete work, pipe rack modify/install, routing of pipe in Energy Center to tie into existing water supply with proper valves at the tie in point; work also includes final testing and inspections of new water line; all in accordance with Contract Drawings numbered 100 and Specifications Number 618-05-105. ADD Alternate: install an additional surface access valve on 8? existing water line per Drawing 1100-P1. Accomplish all work within 45 calendar days of receipt of Notice to Proceed. A SITE WALK IS SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY MAY 4, 2005 AT 9:00 A.M. CDST. Failure to attend this site walk will not relieve the successful offeror from all performance in accordance with specifications and drawings.
