Description
This is a Request For Information from U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and Army Strategic Command (SMDC ARSTRAT). SMDC ARSTRAT G2 Spectral Operations Readiness Center (SORC) requires a system to allow more rapid access to commercial and c ivil satellite imagery data. The required system needed consists of providing a Multi-Sensor Virtual Ground Terminal that enables rapid access to commercial and civil satellite imagery data. This would include both optical and Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR ) data from sensors such as DigitalGlobe's Quickbird and the Canadian RADARSAT satellite. System needs to have a small footprint to allow for flexible positioning for tactical forces around the world. System needs to be expandable to allow inclusion of new satellite sensors such as DigitalGlobe's Worldview and the Canadian SAR satellite RADARSAT 2. The system will allow the unit to request specific data or automatically receive compressed commercial and or civil imagery over a high bandwidth commercial comm unication link (provided by the unit) and process the data within the area of operations. The required system also consists of providing a Tactical Radar system. A space based radar sensor that provides unclassified high resolution (1 meter or better) Rada r imagery to enable global coverage and imaging under all environmental and lighting conditions. Delivery of data must occur within 90 minutes of collect, preferably via direct downlink to an existing military mobile ground station. System must also be cap able of lower resolution, broad area coverage. The sensor needs to have the ability to revisit any land area on the earth's surface on a daily basis. This is a Request For Information to identify sources interested in supplying the aforesaid system. The fo llowing information is provided for planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request For Proposal (RFP) nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. All interested parties must submit a capability statement that suff iciently describes their qualifications, capabilities, and previous experience related to fulfilling similar requirements via email to: george.knowlton@arspace.army.mil 12:00 PM MST on April 18, 2005 will be considered by the government. IMPORTANT!! THE PO INT OF CONTACT IS George Knowlton. Capability responses and inquiries will only be accepted electronically by email at: george.knowlton@arspace.army.mil. Pricing information should include all anticipated costs, with recurring and non-recurring costs prese nted separately, to include set up costs, etc. Capability responses sent to any other email address will not be accepted. The contractor must forward a point of contact (POC) along with the POC's e-mail address, and phone number. This is a market survey fo r planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicite d. Proprietary information is not being solicited; however, if it is submitted, it should be appropriately marked. Please submit responses NO LATER THAN APRIL 18, 2005. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (12-APR-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
