- The U. S. Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service, on behalf of Naval Sea Systems Command, Undersea Systems Contracts Division, (NAVSEA), Washington Navy yard, DC, intends to make a firm-fixed price, sole source award to KDH Defense Systems, Inc.. Specifically, NAVASEA has a need for 40 complete body armor vest, desert camouflage. KDH's body armor meets or exceeds Naval Coastal Warfare Groups requirements. KDH offers a Single Wire activated system, upon activation the vest separates into no more than two pieces, reassembly can be done in 75seconds or less and designed to eliminate requirement to wear layered tactical vest. A market survey was conducted in October 2002 of vest designed by the US Military and the private sector. This announcement is published as a Sole Source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. However, all information received by 4:30 p.m. EST March 18, 2005 will be considered by the Government. The anticipated award date is March 19th, 2005.
