Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) NAS Patuxent River Maryland intends to increase the scope of the sole source contract N00421-03-D-0038 with Summit Instruments, Incorporated of 2236 North Cleveland Massillon Road, Akron Ohio, 44333-1255 for the procurement of an additional 32 upgraded Inertial Measuring Telemetry Kits (Unit #65210EK2) over the next four years for the Air Vehicle/Store Compatibility Division, AIR 4.11.2. The Summit Instruments 65210EK2 is a complete user configurable six degree of freedom inertial measurement system with telemetry that will provide the test team with improved measurement data needed to quantify weapon separation characteristics and analyze the data in order to recommend fleet envelope. The Summit 65210EK2 is a new version of their 65210EK1. The Summit Inertial Measurement Kit units are the only units that meet the performance and space requirements. The only location available to mount the inertial unit is the forward fuze well, which is limited with respect to volume. The Summit unit is the only unit that will fit into this fuze space. The Summit unit also meets all the technical requirements such as inertial performance, data stream rates and telemetry range and has been qualified for use in testing.
