- Description
- INDUSTRY STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT SESSION The WR-ALC Support Equipment Commodity Council (SECC) will host an Industry Strategy Development Session at WR-ALC on 26 Apr 05. The goal of these sessions is to present information regarding the current data available on a 71-FSC group of items currently under evaluation by the SECC. The items represent items that are currently coded with Acquisition Method Codes (AMC) identifying the items as competitive. The available data on these items, which indicates the most recent three-year spend history and the current three-year forecast data can be viewed at: http://www.robins.af.mil/le/lek/default.asp. All available information regarding most recent contract award, projected buy quantities, estimated dollar amounts of the forecast, and other pertinent information is included in a spreadsheet for your evaluation. You may obtain data on any of the items identified by contacting the WR-ALC Public Sales office.*** Objectives of the strategy development day will be to solicit inputs from industry contractors who may have previously provided the items (either as a manufacturer or a distributor) to determine if there are competitive groupings of items that may make support of groups of items a viable business opportunity to industry. Other potential methods of support may include the development of Third Party Logistics sources and the discussion of the types of contracts that may be employed. Additional issues to be discussed will include the use of web-based ordering, overall reduction in paperwork processing for both the Government and the contractor, long-term contracts, flexibility in establishment of contracts that will allow expansion of items to be covered under contracts once contracts are awarded, inclusion of Performance Based Logistics (PBL) objectives, and various other methods of support of the items identified in the purview of the SECC. The event will provide a unique opportunity for Government and industry participants to explore more innovative methods of support and ensure that the warfighter needs are met with improvements in timeliness, cost, and technology.*** The half-day sessions will be held in the Eagle Conference Room on the third floor of the WR-ALC Museum of Aviation Eagle Building on 26 April 2005. There will be two sessions, the first from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. and the second from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. There will be a limit of 30 people per session on a first come, first serve basis. Participation is free. Special invitation is extended toward but not limited to small businesses. You must register on the http://www.robins.af.mil/le/lek/default.asp website by COB 21 April (website available the afternoon of 15 April). Opportunities for one-on-one sessions with SECC members will be scheduled on 27 Apr and the request must be indicated on the registration form.*** POCs: Linda Ralston @ 478-222-3775 Joseph Howard @ 478-222-3748 Attachment: Approximately 71 FSCs spreadsheet.
