Description
It is the intent of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville, AL 35807, to negotiate on a sole source basis with Talley Defense Systems, 4051 North Higley Road, Mesa, AZ 85215. The proposed acquisition is directed to Talley Defen se Systems pursuant to the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed acquisition will require the contractor to provide the capabilities, services, materials, per sonnel, and facilities necessary to manufacture, inspect, and deliver flight qualified retarding rocket separation motors for the Strategic Targets System (STARS) vehicles. The contractor will furnish system level analyses of mass properties, performance analyses, ballistics, grain design, structural, and thermal analysis, and reliability analysis. The retarding rocket separation motors must possess sufficient strength, rigidity, and other necessary characteristics to meet the specified performance requi rements during and after exposure to the acceleration, vibration, thermal, and shock environments summarized in the Shock, Vibration, and Acceleration Specification for STARS booster Vehicle Components. Deliveries of the motors are required to be deliver ed no later than 1 August 2005. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This acquisition is not open allied participations. All response should be directed to Lillie V. Jackson, SMDC-CM-AK, lillie.jackson@smdc.army.mil and must be received within (15) days from the date of this notice. A determination by the government not to complete this proposed contract action upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
