- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City, Florida intends to solicit Chelton, Inc. 1720 Lakepointe Dr. Suite 112, Lewisville, Texas 75057 on a sole source basis for one (1) Tunable Antenna, P/N: 30-124, and one (1) Logic Control Unit (LCU), P/N: 7-151/30. These communication antennas are currently used on the Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC). These communication antennas provided the performance required to allow the craft to meet the established communication. This acquisition is unsuitable for full and open competition for the following reasons. The communication antennas will be required to interface with and be 100% backward compatible and easily integrated with the existing hardware and software currently in use on the LCAC system. This level of compatibility and integration are required to prevent communication loss during at-sea operations. Use of other manufacturers equipment would cost the government additional time and money while attempting to integrate! the systems that in turn would negatively impact delivery of the system to the fleet. Thus Chelton, Inc. is the only vendor that can meet this requirement. A firm-fixed-price contract is anticipated. The anticipated award date will be on or about April 25, 2005. Delivery will be to the Naval Support Activity - Panama City, Receiving Officer, Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7018.. NAICS Code 334220 applies. SBA Size Standard is 750 employees. FSC is 5826.
