Description

The National Ocean Service (NOS), Field Operations Division, Chesapeake, Virginia has a requirement for services to perform maintenance of the Great Lakes Water Level Measurement Systems. NOS operates 52 water level stations in the Great Lakes and their Connecting Channels as part of the National Water Level Observation Network (NWLON). The following work will be on a firm fixed price basis: The contractor shall install/deploy systems/sensors at existing sites; replace the data collection platform (DCP) system at existing stations in accordance with the requirements of the Statement of Work. Emergency or unscheduled maintenance support will be on a time and materials basis. The contractor shall provide additional personnel as required to provide on site support and for safety considerations. The contractor shall have at least five years experience working with the Federal Government. The contractor shall be knowledgeable of the NOAA, NOS and CO-OPS operations. The contractor shall be knowledgeable of the Great Lakes environmental conditions, weather, and water borne operations. The contractor shall have an office in the vicinity of the Great Lakes to minimize travel time and costs. Est. 1,028 hours per year. Period of performance is from May 15, 2005, or date of award, whichever is later, thru May 14, 2006, with four one year option. All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications to be provided with the RFQ. This acquisition will be issued as an RFQ; set aside 100% for small businesses and awarded as a firm-fixed price order under simplified acquisition procedures.
