- The Ethics Center located at the U S Naval Academy, Annapolis MD. has a requirement to contract with one (1) Writer/Editor for a base year starting 1 May 2005 through 30 April 2006 plus three (3) option years beginning 1 May 2006 through 30 April 2009 as follows: DUTIES: Editing transcripts of lectures; writing copy for newsletters and web site; writing case studies and other teaching materials related to military ethics, including scripts and scenarios for use in CD-ROM and DVD based instructional materials. QUALIFICATIONS: Substantial experience in writing effective newsletters and case studies, especially case studies on military topics. Substantial experience in editing, especially publications related to military and defense matters. Working knowledge of U S Naval Academy (USNA) and the Navy and Marine Corps. Bachelors? degree in appropriate field required. Masters degree in appropriate field highly desirable. Professional experience in instructional design required. WHAT TO SUBMIT: Applicant shall provide a resume on their qualifications, work experiences with point of contacts, training, degrees, and personal references. TIME PERIOD: Minimum of one (1) day per week, with flex capability for more than one (1) day per week. HOURS: Work shall start at 8:00 AM through 4:00 PM or as appropriate to complete assignments. There shall not be any over time honored while working at the Naval Academy?s location nor elsewhere. LOCATION: Most of the work shall be performed at the Ethics Center, USNA; some work may be done elsewhere. Applicant shall live within 60 miles of the Naval Academy to be able to commute to work at the Academy. SUPPLIES: The Ethics Center shall provide access to computer, telephone, fax machine, Library privileges and necessary office supplies while working on location at the Naval Academy under this contract. PROCESS: Director of the Ethics Center shall assign specific projects with deadlines and applicant shall ensure timely completion.
