Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-27. NAICS is 334516. Size standard is 500 employees. Request for Quotation Number is SPO71005R0004. The Defense Supply Center Columbus, 3990 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43213-1199 intends to procure an Optical Emission Spectrometer, Spectro Analytical Instruments Model SPECTROMAXx, Model M, or equal. Salient characteristics include: 1. Stand alone Optical Emission Spectrometer with Computer, Monitor,and Printer; 2. Wavelength range: 140 ? 670 nm; 3. Charge Coupled Device (CCD) Detector System; 4. Software for analysis and calibration; 5. Automatic alloy/grade verification and identification; 6. 10 Element Matrix Modules: [a. Iron, b. Copper, c. Aluminum, d. Titanium, e. Magnesium, f. Cobalt, g. Nickel, h. Tin, i. Lead, j. Zinc]; 7. Spark stand for small samples; 8. Adapter for small samples; 9. Wire Adapter (3-10mm diameter); 10. Argon Regulator; 11. Group calibration for 76 separate alloys, including 5 mm and 8 mm small sample sizes; 12. Utilizes 1 sample to calibrate and standardize all matrices, and 13. Installation and training (2 Days at DSCC). A 12-month warranty is required. FAR Clause 52.211-6, Brand Name or Equal (Aug 1999) applies. Offerors not providing the Brand Name are to provide product literature in accordance with Brand Name or Equal clause. Unit is to be delivered to: Defense Supply Center Columbus, DSCC?TM, Building 9-Section 1, 3990 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43213-1199. Delivery is to be within 150 days after effective date of contract award. FOB point shall be destination. FAR Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial, applies to this acquisition.
