Description
This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center(AFSC), National Marine Mammal Laboratory ( NMML) located in Seattle, WA intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Seemore Wildlife Systems, Inc. to install and maintain a remote video system on Rogue Reef, Oregon and St. George Reef, California and to provide the live color signal to Gold Beach Oregon for viewing. The Alaska Fisheries Science Center, National Marine Fisheries Service, National Marine Mammal Laboratory conducts research on Stellar Sea Lions, a Species listed as threatened and endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. The purpose of proposed contract will aim at determining the cause of recent and on-going population declines and ways to enhance recovery and to monitor haulout sites to assess population dynamics, movement patterns and monitor marked individuals. Contractor will install its proprietary system of remote wildlife imaging. The images created with the systems will be produced by a system employing wireless video transmissions and robotic cameras specifically designed to optimize imaging in severe marine environments where no local electrical power or hard-wire communication methods are available.
