Description

The U.S. Geological Survey, (USGS) Office of Management Services has a requirement for construction services to perform alterations of an existing laboratory at the John Wesley Powell Federal Building, on the grounds at USGS located at 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, Virginia. The project involves alterations to laboratory furnishings, walls, lighting, power, HVAC, and plumbing in preparation for installation of a new mass spectrometer in Laboratory 3B236. Invitation for Bid (IFB) 05HQSS0021 will be posted on Electronic Commerce on or about May 2, 2005. Details may be viewed on the Department of the Interior Business Opportunities website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The posted IFB will contain the uniform contract format (Sections B - M). Specific work requirements are set forth in the statement of work, attachments; Exhibit A Utility System Outages and Exhibit B - Architectural-Engineering Drawings and Specifications. Exhibit B - Architectural Engineering Drawings and Specifications will not be posted on the website. Exhibit B may be obtained upon receipt of a written request to the Contracting Officer. Requests may be submitted via regular mail at the address cited above, by fax at (703) 648-7901, or via e-mail to jlowe@usgs.gov. Requests must clearly state the company name, mailing address, point of contact, and telephone/fax/e-mail information. The estimated cost for this acquisition is between $100,000.00 - $250,000.00. The NAICS code is 236220. This acquisition is UNRESTRICTED. A site visit will be conducted and is anticipated May 9, 2005. The specific date will be set forth in the IFB. The period of performance will be 90 days after notice to proceed.
